Best Selection of Groom Wedding Gifts!

August 3rd, 2009 Lewd No comments

Be it a subdued engagement party or a more risque bachelor or bachelorette party, there are going to be some favors and gifts given out. Such get-togethers present a fun opportunity to give your almost-married friend a unique gift or two. A number of the gifts my husband and I got were rather remarkable. At our engagement party we got mostly cash in cards, which is also an awesome gift idea, but we got other things too that were really quite neat. We were given movie and dinner certificates, a bottle of champagne we could use for our wedding toast, two tickets to a Reds game, that we really enjoyed, and little things like that. A lot of our loved ones gave us presents, even though it was not required for engagement parties.
At my husbands bachelor party the guys bought him some cool tee shirts that had things printed on it like, how he survived his bachelor party and one that just said groom on the front. He also received as a bride gift, a groom sun visor, a mug with the word groom printed on it and a wine gift set. He also got to keep the ball and chain they made him wear all night and an inflatable woman they gave him as gag gifts. He got other mock groom wedding gifts besides, that gave them all some laughs. My girls night out party was fantastic too and I got a lot of gag gifts, but also quite a few nice bride gifts too. They gave me a shimmering white satin purse with a clasp made of crystal on it and a ribbon on top to boot. There were some feminine items like a manicure set in the bag, along with a tee shirt and pin that were designed for the bride to wear at a bachelorette party. I loved this pillow they gave me which had the word ‘tonight’ embroidered on a side, and then you turned it over and it read ‘not tonight’. It was definitely an unusual and funny throw pillow.
We didn’t get any joke bride and groom wedding gifts on our wedding day. We got about three toasters, four blenders and lots of waffle irons, but that is to be expected when you have so many people attending your wedding. I was fortunate enough to receive a certain food processor and some fine china that I had requested on my bridal registry. My husband just adored the billards table and bar set that his parents gave us, and I know we will get a lot of use out of that. My parents got us tickets to Greece for our honeymoon. Our family and other loved ones really gave us some outstanding wedding presents.
They are what helped to make our day so special, just being there to share it with us, meant the world to both of us. They were with us every step of the way, from our engagement party to the wedding and to the reception dinner. They have always been there for us no matter what, and I’m so glad we have so many wonderful friends and such a devoted family, in our lives. Having those crazy friends that go all out to give you the best girls night out party or a super cool bachelor party, means a lot too. Having friends in your life like ours can really make life worth living. Thank you notes could never begin to express how much we appreciate their love and support.

A Super-Cute Duck Shower Favor!

August 3rd, 2009 Lewd No comments

When I picked the theme for the baby shower, I couldn’t help but think of Ernie on Sesame Street and his favorite bathtub song of ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ I wasn’t really sure about this theme at first until I checked out all the cute little accessories and all the possibilities of having duck baby shower. They are really so cute and it was a lot better than I thought it would be with all the online shopping help I got for ideas. There are a lot of adorable little duck favors and decorations to be found on the internet for baby showers and even toddler birthday parties.
The den in my basement was big enough to hold everyone, so I put tables down there with seating for four people. On one end of the room was a table for all the shower gifts and on the other side of the room I had a buffet style table set up with all kinds of finger foods, drinks and deserts, including an adorable little yellow duck shaped cake with the words baby girl on the bottom layer. Each had a poster or two of Mickey Mouse or one of his friends; the ones of Daffy Duck and Daisy Duck were enormous.
I got pink picture frames with tiny ducks on the edges to use a place card holders for each person’s spot at a table. The punch bowl had ducks painted all over it, as did the plates, napkins, glasses, and favor candles that each guest received as a gift. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It looked pretty adorable. I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. I went all out on this duck themed shower.
On the world wide web, I found a bunch of great ideas, and that’s pretty much where I found everything I needed, but I did get a few recommendations from some of the people at my school. On the Internet is where I found duck shower favors, such as the precious rubber duck favor bookmarkers I found, and the duck candles, too. Everyone thought they were so cute and they made super party gifts for the games we played too.
I put some rubber duckies in a large, square-shaped, makeshift tub that I filled with water before anyone got to the shower yet. On the bottom of the ducks I wrote numbers and as the guests arrived they each had to pick a duck out of the little pond. We gave out a prize for the person who had the winning number, which I pulled out of a hat a bit later during the shower. We had a lot of fun with the guess the baby picture game, too. Everyone was asked to bring a baby picture of themselves and I put them all on a board, and hung it on the wall. Everyone looked over the photos and tried to figure out which picture belonged to which person who was present at the shower. The one with the most correct matches won a prize.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the new mommy picked up quite a pile of wonderul presents for her baby girl. Going on the net to help me put together this shower was an outstanding decision. At first I wasn’t too sure about it, but it turned out to be a really great baby shower. The idea of centering it around ducks made for an absolutely adorable theme.

Elegant Energy 8 Hour Energy Shot

August 3rd, 2009 Lewd No comments

In an age when Americans will go out of their way to save a couple cents per-gallon on gas, there is a booming new industry of energy drinks that sells for twenty times more than Coca-Cola – energy shots.

A growing number of Americans are turning their backs to $3 coffee, in favor of $3 2-oz shots of energy liquid – and most of them taste repulsive.

The market for energy shots is expected to increase by 100% this year, to 700 million in sales – and a majority of those sales will be of Living Essentials’ 5 Hour shot, the first energy shot on the market.

Many companies are attempting to capture the energy shot market – similar energy shots like 6 Hour, 7 Hour, and 8 Hour Energy are attempting to break into this growing new industry with their own products.

The Mr. Energy 8 Hour Energy Shot, though it sounds similar, has raised the bar for the industry. Aside from caffeine, it includes Acai, Gogi, and Tahitian Noni – three incredibly popular berries, each known for their natural energizing and dietary benefits. Currently, the only other way to get a serving of Acai berry is to purchase a $40 bottle.

On top of everything, 8 Hour Energy contains no calories or carbs, and it tastes great!

“I’ve seen the 5 Hour ads plastered all over the media. But if people read the labels before they buy, I think they’ll go for 8 Hour Energy. It’s just a better quality product,” says Darin Steen, one of the top 10 health and fitness trainers in the world.

In a blind taste test of college students at the University of Florida, 9 out of 10 preferred the taste of 8 Hour over any other energy shot. Another study gave out samples of the Mr Energy 8 Hour shot during finals week, and students returned with rave reviews.

“Wow… after taking the 8 Hour Energy, not only was I able to stay up to study for finals, I picked up a basketball game after! Without it, I probably wouldn’t have managed to do either,” laughed Troy Smith, a Finance major in his last semester.

“The 8 Hour Energy shot is amazing. I stayed energized and focused, and totally aced my final. It’s like time in a bottle,” said Stephanie Wilcox – a student at the UF College of Dentistry.

Despite 5 Hour Energy’s 60 million dollar advertising budget, Bhelliom Enterprises, 8 Hour Energy’s developer, is confident their product will succeed due simply to its superior ingredients. “The ingredients speak for themselves,” says Bhelliom Enterprises’ CEO, Casey McCarthy.
